The Silo wins CTBUH Best Tall Building in Europe Award 2018
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has awarded The Silo Best Tall Building in Europe, at the 2018 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference in Chicago.
Along with the award, The Silo received the following words from CTBUH: "The Silo embodies the importance of restoring original structures in cities, as a matter of environmental sustainability, as well as an ethical and visionary approach to cultural heritage."

The Silo exhibited in Oslo
The Silo is part of the exhibition 'From X to Home', displayed at ROM for Kunst og Arkitektur in Oslo, Norway. The exhibition presents a selection of residential Nordic projects, including The Silo, exemplifying how architecture and transformation of physical surroundings can have an impact on human lives and contribute to shape future ways of living.

Cobe at the Venice Biennale 2018
Cobe is part of the official Danish contribution to the 16th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Under the caption “Freespace”, created by curators Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, this year's biennale focuses on the primary focus of architecture: the space in itself and its potential for generosity. Kick-starting the biennale, Founder and Creative Director Dan Stubbergaard will participate in two debates at the Danish Pavilion at Giardini di Castello on May 24 2018:

The Silo wins the City of Copenhagen's Architecture Award
The Silo has been awarded Best Transformation Project in 2018 by the City of Copenhagen.
The City annually awards architecture and urban environments of outstanding beauty, with the purpose of honouring and supporting the development of Copenhagen. The award show took place at Copenhagen’s City Hall, presented by Mayor of Culture and Leisure, Niko Grünfeld.
Cobe's Managing Director named one of Denmark's 100 biggest talents
The Danish newspaper Berlingske Business each year appoints the 100 most talented people in the Danish business community. Nina Mathiesen, Cobe's Managing Director, is one of the top 100 new Danish talents in 2018.
"Nina has managed to safeguard Cobe's culture while at the same time professionalizing the company. She is analytical in her approach, which is a huge force in a creative business. She informs, delegates and engages and has a good gut feeling about the direction we should go in and where we should focus – even in difficult situations," says Cobe's Founder and Creative Director Dan Stubbergaard.
Nina has been Managing Director of Cobe since 2014, but has been apart of the company since 2008. In these past four years, Cobe has grown into an international company with some 120 employees and with projects in both Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, UK and North America.
Lecture in Stockholm

Paper Island's aquatics centre
Cobe unveils the competition scheme for The Waterfall – Paper Island's aquatics centre, done in collaboration with BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, Hundsbæk & Henriksen, SLA, Dansk Energi Management & Esbensen, Teknologisk Institut, Gade & Mortensen and A Kassen.
The project is part of the masterplan for Paper Island, also designed by Cobe, and proposes one large public hall containing aquatic activities and facilities for clubs and associations, all connected by a continuous cascading flow of waterfalls. The auqatics center follows the distinctive roof motif on Paper Island with large sloping roof surfaces and gables oriented towards the waterfront, becomming an essential part of the important cultural institutions along Copenhagen's inner harbour.
Cobe unveils new entrance to Designmuseum Danmark
Designmuseum Danmark is uniquely situated in the historical centre of Copenhagen, housed in listed buildings in Frederiksstaden district, which is considered one of the most important rococo complexes in Europe.
The project features three elements – repaved plaza, new outdoor display cases and a new entrance with café, ticket office and museum shop – that invites visitors into the new plaza where they will get to preview the museum’s treasure trove.
Cobe was selected as architects for the project during an architectural competition settled in February 2017. The ground-breaking will be held in May 2018, and the project is expected to be completed in November 2018. The project was made possible thanks to a donation from Annie & Otto Johs. Detlefs Foundation.
Nørreport Station wins Civic Trust Award 2018
Nørreport Station receives the 2018 Civic Trust Award. From 234 applications worldwide, Nørreport Station is recognised as a project providing an outstanding positive civic contribution.
Founded in 1959, the Civic Trust Award is known as Europe’s longest running architectural and built environment awards programme, each year recognising architecture, planning and design that both improve the built environment through design, sustainability and accessibility, and offer a positive social, cultural, environmental or economic benefit to their local communities.
