The Silo wins RENOVER Prisen 2018
The Silo wins RENOVER Prisen 2018, acknowledged as Denmark's best renovation project the past year. Out of 182 entries, the prize was granted last night to the team behind the renovation of the former grain silo in Copenhagen's Nordhavn; Cobe, Klaus Kastbjerg and NRE Denmark. The Silo was awarded with the following words:
"The Silo is a billiant example of an ambitious transformation of a post-industrial harbour area into attractive, exclusive residences. This is of great value as there are multiple abandoned silos located around Denmark's harbour areas, awaiting the decision to be reused or demolished. The recklessness of The Silo's material roughness, the interior design and the groundbreaking architectural facade expression are all so promising and innovative that there is absolutely no doubt about the renovation's calibre."
RENOVER Prisen is an annual award celebrating Denmark's best renovation – funded by Reldania and Grundejernes Investeringsfond. The ambition is to provide the visibility and recognition that the architectural discipline deserves by emphasizing outstanding renovation projects that exist throughout the country. Read more here.

Our Urban Living Room officially opens in Helsinki
Last Thursday, Cobe, Laituri and Arvinius+Orfeus Publishing celebrated the exhibition opening and book launch of 'Our Urban Living Room' during Nights of the Arts in Helsinki.
The exhibition and book is based on Cobe's last 10 years of practice, grounded in social livability and urban democracy with the aim to create buildings and spaces that invite Copenhageners to use and define them; as an extended living room, where the boundaries between private and public space become fluid.
Our Urban Living Room runs from 23 August until 30 November 2018.

Cobe launches a new edition of the book and exhibition Our Urban Living Room
On Thursday 23 August, Cobe, Laituri and Arvinius+Orfeus Publishing open the doors to the exhibition and book launch of ‘Our Urban Living Room’ during Night of the Arts in Helsinki. ‘Our Urban Living Room’ invites visitors and readers to experience the city from a new perspective – as an extended living room – in which the boundaries between the private and public space are erased. At Laituri you can experience a comparison between ‘Our Urban Living Room’ with projects by Cobe in Copenhagen and architectural and urban planning projects in Helsinki.
The exhibition is developed by Cobe in collaboration with Laituri and generously supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, Knud Højgaards Fond, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Culture Fund for Denmark and Finland. In connection with the exhibition opening, Cobe is launching the 2nd edition of the ‘Our Urban Living Room' book, published by Arvinius+Orfeus. This is Cobe's second ‘Our Urban Living Room’ exhibition, following its first at the Danish Architecture Centre in Copenhagen in 2016.
