Groundbreaking of Porsgrunn Maritime Museum
Construction of the new Maritime Museum has started in Porsgrunn, Norway. The project conveys Norway’s transformation from a seafaring nation to a modern society based on knowledge industry. The building will be completed in the beginning of 2013.
Groundbreaking of Nørreport Station
Today, construction begins of the new Nørreport Station – the busiest station in Denmark. The station is expected to be completed at the end of 2014.
Cobe wins Danish Rock Museum competition
Cobe and MVRDV win the competition to design Denmark’s new Rock Museum – the Rockmagnet – in Roskilde. The project transforms a former concrete factory into a multifunctional creative hub. Three new volumes will be added on top of the existing halls: The Danish Rock Museum, The Roskilde Festival Folkschool incl. student housing, and the headquarters of the famous Roskilde Rock Festival. They share program in a public creative communal house. The museum with a total of 3.000 m² will be completed as the first phase in 2015.
The Library completed
Today Cobe and Transform celebrated the completeion and official opening of Copenhagens new combined library and culture house.
Dan Stubbergaard appointed member of the Danish Arts Foundation
For the next three years Dan Stubbergaard will be part of the architecture committee at the Danish Arts Foundation. The role of the Danish Arts Foundation is to promote the creative arts in Denmark. Its main task is to provide grants and scholarships for creative artists.
First prize in Science City North Campus
Cobe wins the international competition for the development of an integrated urban science city in Copenhagen.
First prize in Nørreport Station
Cobe wins the competition to design Nørreport Station – the busiest station in Denmark with roughly 250.000 people are passing through the area every day. The new station will be an open, cohesive space with clear and easily accessible facilities, created by your footsteps. A study of pedestrians’ preferred routes has formed the basis for the station’s new design.The project is done in collaboration with Gottlieb Paludan Architects, Grontmij and Bartenbach Lichtlabor.
Final winner of Nordhavnen
Cobe has been selected as final winner of the open international competition for the development of Nordhavnen in Copenhagen. In collaboration with Sleth, Polyform and Rambøll, Cobe will work as final advisor for Cph City & Port in the development of Scandinavia’s most ambitious metropolis development project in the years to come.
